Maria Roberta Perugini is taking part as lecturer in the Postgraduate Master’s Degree in Data Protection Officer and Privacy Law organized by the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples for the academic year 2018/19.

The Postgraduate Master’s Degree in Data Protection Officer and Privacy Law, organized by the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, is underway throughout the academic year 2018/2019. The Master is part of the European project Training Activities to implement the new Data Protection Reform “TAtoDPR”.

TAtoDPR is a research project, co-funded by the European Union’s JUST / REC program, aimed at organizing specialized and multidisciplinary training activities, adapted to the needs of future Data Protection Officers. The project involves 5 university and business partners from 3 European countries: the Suor Orsola Benincasa University and the SME RE: Lab in Italy, Loughborough University and the University of Derby in the United Kingdom and the Universidad de Sevilla in Spain, for a total of 90 students.

The long-term objective of the project is to help companies and public organizations to improve the quality of their data management in compliance with European legislation, thereby fostering the correct implementation of the GDPR and overall harmonization of the legal framework between EU Member States.

The training plan of the TAtoDPR project is aimed at offering a model of teaching activity that uses techniques and methods of active and interactive involvement of the participants in order to achieve effective learning.

Maria Roberta Perugini is taking part as a lecturer with an educational program based on the following topics:

  • Key elements of the GDPR:
    • Accountability
    • Privacy by design, privacy by default.
    • ISO 27001 (legal aspects).
  • The legal bases of the processing, in particular, the legitimate interests pursued by the controller.
  • The other legal bases: performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, public interest and safeguard of vital interests, in the light of Legislative Decree 101/2018.
  • Personal data and electronic communications.
  • The management of personal data in direct marketing: the relevant legislation.
  • Marketing and profiling.
  • The management of personal data in indirect marketing: search engines and social networks.
